Taryn Simon's series A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters I-XVII is on view at MOCA through January 7.


Simon's project is complex, as you can see from this talk she gave at the TED conference last year.

L.A. based artist Catherine Opie is currently showing her series Twelve Miles to the Horizon at the Long Beach Museum of Art. The museum if free on Thursdays from 5-8pm, as well as every Friday.
